Some hackers, working for Lumin, sneak onto one of George's space stations or Systems, as they're called. They make their way to a computer that connects them to all of the robotic and cybernetic files from Sir Clayton's department.
Sir Clayton gets an alert of the hack and George approves his request to destroy the System, thinking that Shang is behind the hack, as Shang is currently in command of that System.
Shang notices a lot of Systems behing shut down and breaking communications with the one he's in. He calls Erty to the bridge to give him a task.
Erty enters the room and greets Gaydian. Shang points out the Galaxy map, showing the com failures. He gives Erty a seed and asks him what he sees in it.
Erty touches the top of the seed. The seed opens up, revealing the time stream. Erty immediately laves the System on his ship.
Gaydian gets a call from George and returns to Mesa.
Sir Clayton flies in with his androids in their fighters and destroys the System with Shang still inside.
Shang, floating in space, fails to hold his shell of a body together and it falls apart, returning him to the Dead World.
Erty tells Golu, over subspace communication, that he needs him to gather his team for a very important fight that is soon to come.
Cage and Blaster, talking and getting to know each other at a bar, are interrupted by Golu, calling out to them.
Dorm, sitting at the far end of the bar, sees Golu. He remembers a report about Golu surviving an encounter with Froster. Dorm bows at Golu's feet and asks to join him. Golu agrees to let Dorm join, knowing Dorm's history as a warrior.
Erty seeks the help of others, including a Geek. The Geek turns down the request but follows Erty to his ship to spy on him. Erty also finds Bishedo Vega, a warrior from the past.
Vega predicts Erty's words, cleverly trying to deny offering any help, until he feels a large spike of power erupt and die out in an instant. Vega's mood changes and he agrees to accompany Erty.
While Erty is with Vega, the Geek opens the seed on Erty's ship but doesn't understand what he sees.
Lumin takes George's new training course aboard the Usurper, making short work of it, applying new skills that are recorded by George's team.
After Lumin's training, he retires to his room at the nearby System to use a wish, summoning the Starshifters.
George invites Lumin to join him in the command room. In the command room, George tells Lumin that he knows what's been going on and that Lumin needs to stop.
Lumin gets angry and charges a rage filled energy blast but Moe protects George, giving them a chance to escape as the Starshifters make their move on the System.
Part 2
Lumin hunts an energy that he feels on the system and finds Botos with new cybernetic arms. Botos attacks Lumin in a display of mindless aggression.
Lumin get the upper-hand in the fight only for a moment when Botos' son, Job, stops the fight by punching Lumin in the face, making Lumin bleed.
Lumin takes Botos and Job to an escape pod that sends them to the nearest planet, Planet Son.
Shang, having just made it back out of the Dead World with his real body, sees Lumin on his planet and confronts him.
Shang attacks Lumin, having determined his hand in the mess that preceded, assuming that Gaydian was killed in Sir Clayton's assault of his System.
Shang overpowers Lumin and forces him to agree to a debt of service.
