The Kayoan, Erty, is granted funding from his academy to study the fighters and politics exchanging on South Mesa. He finds Golu and Stager's names on a list of King Power participants looking to expand their team. Erty calls them up for a meeting over subspace communications while refueling at a midway space station.
While Erty is loading more cargo and supplies, two hidden figures stow away on his ship to travel to Mesa.
Moments after landing and greeting Golu, the group is attacked by a Mashen. The Mashen is too strong for the group as he takes a major advantage in the fight but before he lands a devastating blow to Stager, a mysterious stranger leaps in and blocks the attack. The stranger easily subdues the Mashen and finishes him off with a power blast of energy.
The victorious stranger introduces themself as Star, one of the legendary Pokotos brothers. He expresses his urgency to talk to Golu.
As the group heads to Golu's bunker, Erty takes a good look at the battlefield and where the Mashen was blasted.
At the bunker, Star tells Golu that he needs to prepare for more Mashen attacks. As long as Stager is a part of his team, then they are putting everyone on Mesa in danger.
Erty interrupts Star to ask who he really is. Erty points out how Star's light show didn't scorch the ground and the other's energy is still lingering around.
Star comes clean about only using the name and combat performance only to gain credibility. He asks them to meet his friend, Stinky. Star, or Fake Star, tells them that Stinky is a Pwal and not a Mashen. He still insists that Mashens are on their way to Mesa to eliminate Stager.
Golu agrees that they need to prepare and asks Fake Star to stay with them and help with the training.
