Part 1 "Omin Mesa Saga the Telling"

Eighteen years before the cataclysm, Doctor Donavin Lumin and his wife, give birth to a baby boy. They name the child Sanford Lumin. A few months later, a group of astronomers discover that the stars on the edge of the observable universe have started increasing in brightness. After much debate, the world's scientists agree that they are witnessing the death of the universe. While most of the work and complex thought is done by artificial intelligence, there was no programing left behind by the old ways to calculate the possibility of such an event. It is estimated that the people of Earth have only 400 years before their solar system dies.

Around the time of Sanford's second birthday, Dr. Lumin receives a grant to develop a method of survival for all the people of Earth. He starts to design a force field that will project around the Earth to preserve it. Other scientist are tasked with the possible creation of an artificial star to replace the Sun. Simulations are also being run to test the survivability of the new system.

At five years of age, Sanford begins his schooling. He shows great promise in his retention and understanding of letters and numbers. The education system is not prepared to accommodate his excellence over the other students.

Before his ninth birthday, Sanford's teachers request that he join a sports team to occupy and challenge his mind due to his impeccable test scores. Sanford joins the basketball team and becomes friends with some of his team mates.

A few years later, after his twelfth birthday, Sanford grows closer to a girl named Maranda or Mara for short. Sanford and his friends create their own language over the next year so that they can pass secret notes to each other.

Further astronomical research disproves the original theory of 400 years and baffles scientists. They scrabble to write up new projections as they learn more about what they're observing with orbital satellites. Dr. Lumin's progress with his shield leads him to send a request for Human trials with his prototype. His request is denied and his funding is pulled.

Dr. Lumin continues his trials with his shield using his son as the test subject. His team reluctantly stay with the operation. They believe that they don't have time to invest in a new project. As the tests continue over the next year, Sanford's physical and mental abilities multiply.

The scientist in charge of Earth's survival keep their new findings secret for as long as they can but word leaks to the press. The press release a statement to the world. "As of this moment, we only have 5 minutes left before our solar system and the entire universe collapses in on itself." The world and all of its people sit and wait in silence for the end, except for Sanford.

Sanford instead races to save Mara and himself, using the two prototype shields developed by his farther. With his super human strength and speed, he is able to pick up Mara and take her to his father's laboratory. Sanford equips the belt-like device and turns on the personal bubble shield around himself. Mara equips the second device but it fails to activate and Sanford witnesses his planet burn up and collapse with the universe into a singularity.

Sanford survives in a waking dream state inside his bubble for the next twenty thousand years, alone, floating in empty space. Then a spark ignites the birth of a new universe. Heat irradiates all around, space expands again, and Bugeyed is born, with and part of the universe. Sanford's life force is carried out within all things.
